At /r/AnimalRescue, our top priority has always been protecting both vulnerable animals and the compassionate donors who support them. Over the past few years, our Cardinal+ verification system has served as the backbone of our community safety efforts, including vetting independent rescuers, non-profit organizations, and emergency campaign requests to prevent fraud and ensure every dollar goes where it’s needed most.

Today, we are thrilled to announce a major upgrade to our verification ecosystem: MyCardinal+.

What is MyCardinal+?

Inspired by the patient-centered design of modern health portals (like MyChart), MyCardinal+ is a dedicated, read-only applicant portal built inside Notion for rescuers and organizations undergoing verification with /r/AnimalRescue. Instead of waiting on manual ModMail or Email updates or wondering where your application sits in our queue, MyCardinal+ gives eligible applicants their own private dashboard to track their verification journey in real time.

Key Features of the MyCardinal+ Portal

• Real-Time Vitals & Status Tracking: View your application milestones—from initial prior authorization to full verification and determinations.
• Itemized Compliance Checklists: See exactly which documents (such as tax-exempt status or site visits) have been verified and what items, if any, still require review.
• Dedicated Notifications & Milestones: Receive direct updates, renewal reminders, and official notices from our moderation team in one centralized hub.
• Secure & Private Access: Each portal is restricted exclusively to the applicant’s verified email address, ensuring your information remains safe while maintaining administrative integrity.

How It Works

1. Pass Prior Authorization: Once your full verification request clears our verification process, you become eligible for a MyCardinal+ portal.
2. Receive Your Access Link: Our team provisions your custom dashboard and sends a secure link directly to your email address.
3. Track Your Review: Log in at any time to monitor progress while our moderation team completes verification and document reviews.

Note on Update Timelines: MyCardinal+ is maintained manually by our volunteer moderation team to ensure thoroughness and accuracy. While your portal provides live status visibility, please allow up to 3 business days for new document submissions or manual updates to reflect on your dashboard.
