About Us, Our Values, & Mission
At Cardinal+, we are the backbone of safety and verification for the /r/AnimalRescue community. Our mission is to eliminate fraud, build trust, and protect both donors and rescuers dedicated to animal welfare and wildlife rehabilitation. Our team, The Role, & The Work
We are a tight-knit group of volunteers running the Subreddit and our Discord server. As a Junior Moderator, you'll jump right into the action with us to keep things running smoothly.
What you’ll actually be doing:
- Keeping the Peace: Hanging out on our Subreddit and Discord, chatting with members, and making sure everyone follows the rules.
- Helping with Verifications: Helping us sort through incoming Cardinal+ applications and checking out rescue groups to make sure they're legit.
- Spotting Red Flags: Keeping an eye on the feed and flagging suspicious posts or sketchy looking fundraisers so the senior team can take a closer look.

What you bring to the table
- You love animals and care about keeping online communities safe.
- You are level-headed, friendly, and don't get easily flustered by internet drama.
- You can spare a few hours a week to log on and help out.
- You're a team player who is down to learn and collaborate.
- Zero experience? Totally fine! You don't need to have moderated anything before. We’ll show you the ropes, train you on our processes, and make sure you have everything you need to feel confident.
